Konkan Travel - Day 6

I woke up early at 5.00 am. Tied my shoes and was out on the beach to have a walk around. Rohit had then become too lazy to wake up that early.  I  had some warm up exercise with fresh air and was back to room after 30-40 mins.We both left at around 6.30 am for Harnai, Anjarla, kelshi beach. There are couple of temples on around beaches and a Survarnadurg fort near Harnai beach. The distance to explore was approx 20 kms

Bypass road from Kelshi to Murud

Inner roads
The inner roads of Kelshi are very tough to drive. The roads were so bad that one cannot identify state highway and local town road. Our GPS once failed and denied to guide us.. :). We just followed the road with the help of local people. One more reason for the bad road was that, we had taken the inner roads of town. There is a bypass road to kelshi from Murud. .

We took bypass road while returning and were back to Murud at around 12 pm. Had our lunch and decided to leave the place. Rohit knew someone in Nagaon so had decided to Stay at Nagaon beach. It was almost 1.30 pm. We loaded the back our lagguage and was all set. We had to catch the last jetty of the journey which is near kelshi. To catch veshvi-kolmandal jetty we had to travel around 20-30 kms so we targeted 3.00 pm jetty.

1.5 hours time was decent enough to cover 20 - 30 kms.  Believe me the roads inside and after kelshi was so bad that we were driving with 200% concentration :). It took us complete 1.5 hours to reach till the jetty place. And our bad, we missed the jetty by just mere 2 mins.  We saw the jetty left in front of us. No option but to wait for the next scheduled jetty which was at 4.00 pm. It was slightly raining. We knew we would be late by 1 hour for next journey but it was time to just sit back and relax.

10 mins water distance. Can see the other end :). It saves more than 1 hour road travel time

Waiting time..!
The jetty too was running late and finally we were on the other side at around 5.30. Knowing that we were late we had to now change the plan and move straight towards Nagaon beach. But Harihareshwar temple was on the way so don't wanted to miss it. We reached the temple at around 6 pm and quickly visited the temple in 10-15 mins.

Harihareshwar temple

Rohit was running out of fuel. So we first had to search for fuel. It seemed that we would get late to reach Nagaon beach. The total distance to cover was approx 150 kms. We stopped somewhere near Mhasala for dinner at around 8.30.  It was late but we had to decide the route and move on. We decided to go by shortest route which goes through a wildlife sanctuary. It was a risk but we had to took it. That route becomes lonely after dark. I started the GPS for guidance and just went on chasing the road.. :D. It was scary as well as thrilling.

GPS loaded on tank bag.. with adjustment..:)
There was strict police checking going on in whole Konkan region for few days as part of some drill. We had to face the checkup couple of  time. We reached near to Murud Janjira at around 11 pm and Nagaon was still couple of kms away. We were suggested by police people at Murud to stay back and not to travel further. Even we wanted to stop at Murud. We searched a place to stay near beach. That was the end of adventures day :).
